Re: Favourite 5 Movies
Hard one to pick. So many. But I would include the ones that I can keep watching again occasionally and still be entertained.
Cheating a little bit by lumping same franchises together.
1. The Lord of the Rings trilogy
2. Batman trilogy (Christopher Nolan's)
3. The Matrix trilogy
4. Marvel franchise
5. Mission Impossible franchise
The first one (LOTR) is definitely top. The other 4's rankings are interchangeable.

Re: Favourite 5 Movies
Ditto, way too many of 'em and I pretty much stopped watching anything since Iron Man 3 I think. I just don't find many enjoyment from cinema these days, that's all. Still, I do have fun and enjoy the experience of rummaging through my memory in order to compile this small list
(In no particular order)
1. The Exorcist
2. The Deer Hunter
3. ダウンタウン・ヒーローズ
4. Groundhog Day
5. Don Juan de Marco

"Lemme have a Diablo Sandwich a Dr. Pepper and make it fast.. I'm in a goddam hurry..."
Yeah I'll add that to my list. And Fletch. Fletch F. Fletch. I'll also add Millers' Crossing.

Re: Favourite 5 Movies
1. Sunset Blvd (1950) ["I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille"]
2. Vertigo (1958) [Jimmy Stewart's best and creepiest role]
3. Double Indemnity (1944) [I'm a huge film noir and Billy Wilder fan]
4. The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) [Movie about three returning WWII veterans and strangers from different ranks and social classes to their shared small hometown and how their families have completely changed]
5. How Green Was My Valley (1941) [Yes, this movie is much better than the overrated "Citizen Kane" and "Casablanca". Everyone always trashes "How Green Was My Valley".]

Re: Favourite 5 Movies
Dan, I disagree with you on a lot of stuff but that is an excellent list. Couldn't agree more on #5. I still remember the first time I saw #4 and it gutted me.fastmandan88 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2020, 06:121. Sunset Blvd (1950) ["I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille"]
