I'll Bite

My handle is based on a 1980's Bass Synthesizer by the Roland Company. Nothing hair related at all, but something my closest of friends could figure out. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasperhami ... 5e085b359d

Only 10,000 of these synths were made, estimates are 5000-7500 alive and well now. It was a commercial failure, but it was the synthesizer that gave birth to the acid scene in techno and trance. The filter was unique to all synthesizers and gave a unique sound. I have one, unmodified and in its beautiful glory! Commercially it's worth 1500-3000 now. Many clones were made but no one could replicate the filter, Roland even re-released it a year or two back, It's close but even Roland has trouble recreating the 4 pole 24dB filter (most are 8 dB or 16 dB and 4-8 Pole), but it is in the pantheon of techno gods with the 909 and 808. I had a knack for programming it, and it has an unmistakable sound :)

I love acid techno and acid trance. I am a techno DJ hobbiest now, but at one time I was part of a techno group in Philadelphia. We disbanded when a member committed suicide. He was only 30 at the time. I used to write and produce techno, but I lost a lot of the drive after R___ died.

That is heavy. I've written a few unreleased tracks since then, but we missed our opportunity. It was a beautiful dream. I recall bringing dancers to the floor in Philadelhia, NYC, Washington DC, Baltimore and many other East Cost Cities with my TB303 lines. People knew we were 'bringing it' when they heard my TB303 going solo. Some loved it, some hated it. That is the TB303!

TB303, why is it special?

That should be fairly obvious. And 256 used to be an important number for old computers. Hence comes this online moniker.

BobbyOcean

It's from a movie called "The Salton Sea." There's a drug dealer in the movie named Bobby Ocean. My buddy and I watched it years ago. Ever since then everyone has called me ocean, the ocean or Bobby Ocean. I was a drug dealer (weed, coke and Molly) when I was young. No, I'm not proud of it. But it was a part of my life that has long been over. But the nickname stayed. Lol. So I just own it.
Excuse me... I don't mean to impose. But I am the Ocean.

Sabretooth meets Edward Scissorhands. You could say I'm a mix of these two (especially if you take the Wolverine:Origins movie into account).

The modern day Svengali of hair... when I was young and handsome, I could turn almost any conversation with any woman into talking about their hair and haircuts and getting them and friends to consider short hair. Likewise, I talked many women into modeling for me and many into my chair with a smooth talking gift of gab. An ex girlfriend inspired the name when she said my pillow talk about hair was hypnotic.

Headboy

It was what my old roommate used to call me after I shaved her head.
I was in charge of keeping it shaved.

She liked horses a lot and used the term stable boy to refer to most of the guys she dated before figuring out she was a lesbian. She took to calling me "head boy," which I thought was funny and odd and unique.

When I wrote stories for the Haircut Story Archive, I needed a nickname, it made as much sense as anything else.
